The urban media art festival presents art at various locations in Karlsruhe’s public spaces: Video, sound, and light installations, projections on facades and on streets, art interventions, and interactive projects will be on view from 17 September to 17 October 2021.
The festival is designed by the Karlsruhe Department of Cultural Affairs I UNESCO City of Media Arts and the ZKM and gives media artists the opportunity to present their works in a variety of urban locations. Two works that were created within the City to City initiative of the UNESCO Creative Cities Network Media Arts Cluster are part of the exhibition: LIMBO by Sarah Degenhardt (Karlsruhe) & João Carlos Pinto (Braga) and Cartography of the Stain by Paris Diaz (Guadalajara) & Gerardo Nolasco-Rózsás (Karlsruhe). Having been successfully presented online, these two works can now be enjoyed physically in urban spaces of Karlsruhe.
All this was only possible thanks to the fantastic cooperation and great support of the media art cities of Braga and Guadalajara. Further to and following on from the Light Art Festival Karlsruhe and the Schlosslichtspiele, the Seasons of Media Arts – Connected Future invites its guests to rediscover Karlsruhe through the prism of media and light art.
