Help us build a more Creative City

We are looking for Guild members to join the Court, starting in January 2022.

As a member of the Court of the Guild of Media Arts you will be guiding and supporting the York’s largest membership body committed to putting creativity and culture at the heart of sustainable urban development here and across the region. The Guild is a Community Interest Company and is run on a voluntary basis.

Our membership consists of individuals from across the arts, heritage and creative industries, and supporting sectors, such as education, law and finance. We are the guardian of York’s designation, awarded in 2014, as a UNESCO Creative City of Media Arts, working with City of York Council, Make It York, Mediale and many other partners.

There are normally a dozen Court members with a range of experience and skills, who serve for a term of two years, which is renewable. We commit to attending quarterly meetings of the Court, and working between meetings on Guild activities such as social events for the sector, creative education, UNESCO support, and communications.

If you feel you can help us achieve our goals then please get in touch with the Clerk of the Guild of Media Arts Chris Bailey, whose email is
